At the moment, it's my favorite summer movie. I've heard some comments about the plot being weak or not very substantial. If anything, I believe that SPEED RACER's plot was very strong, considering the cartoon-style visuals. Perhaps too many people were busy paying more attention to the visuals and less on the plot. Even my dad - who didn't want to see it for the second time - admitted that the movie had a strong emotional resonance in compare to the other major summer movies released so far.
